LFF Executive Director Announces Retirement
Executive Director Bruce Karmazin to retire in 2025.
A Message from Bruce:
After 23 incredible years as Executive Director of the Lumpkin Family Foundation, I am announcing my plans to retire this year.
This has been a profoundly meaningful journey, and it has been the greatest privilege of my career to represent the Lumpkin family and the Lumpkin Family Foundation in East Central Illinois and beyond, synthesizing a vision for healthy, sustainable communities into strategies and programs with real impact.
I am eternally grateful to our dedicated trustees, members, and staff for trusting me to guide this work and for their steadfast commitment to our mission. To our grantees: your dedication and impact have been a constant source of inspiration. Working alongside you has shown me the power of collaboration in bringing about meaningful change. And to fellow funders and partners: it has been an absolute pleasure to learn from and collaborate with you to advance our common goals.
As I prepare for this next chapter, I am delighted to share that the Foundation has engaged BoardWalk Consulting to lead the search for my successor. I am confident their expertise will guide the Foundation to find a leader who will continue building on our shared legacy. I will do my part to ensure that the new leader receives everything they need to succeed.
The position announcement is now available on our website and LinkedIn page. I encourage you to share it widely and help us identify the next steward of the Foundation’s important work.
I look forward to staying connected in the months ahead as we continue this transition together.
With deep gratitude,
Bruce
