Land, Health, Community-Chicago Awards 2024 Grantees
Broadening our understanding of what it means to pursue thriving and healthy communities.
The Lumpkin Family Foundation’s grant program, Land, Health, Community-Chicago (LHC-C), recently awarded 31 grants in the Chicagoland area. This year, the program funded a number of new organizations that have allowed us to broaden our understanding of what it means to pursue thriving and healthy communities. Please visit our grantee database for a list of 2024 recipients.
Land, Health, Community-Chicago’s new focus on mental health has also resulted in funding a number of organizations that have shown a proven commitment to the mental wellness of young people who reside in some of the most challenging communities within Chicago. We awarded seven inspirational grants to new organizations that showed promise and ingenuity.
Land, Health, Community-Chicago receives proposals from organizations that:
- Provide opportunities for children in/out of school to engage physically with and to learn about the natural world, to eat well, and to care for the planet.
- Support a community and/or multigenerational approach to addressing the mental health and wellness of youth.
- Promote efforts to increase access to healthy and sustainably produced food.
- Reflect grassroots and community led initiatives centered on the pursuit of food justice.
